"My ideal imagery for San Jose celebrates this San Jose pride and breadth of facets. That’s what I love about the Screenprint Showdown – it reflects all these values. Local artists are celebrating our story through dynamic imagery that celebrates what is uniquely and fabulously San Jose."
"San Jose is not just a city, but a state of mind. We’re diverse, innovative and are fiercely proud of our neighborhoods and city. Our visual identity should be urban, forward thinking and rooted in a healthy amount of hustle. The imagery needs to reflect that we are as comfortable innovating around autonomous vehicles as we are coming up with the next great fish taco."
"Paletas are an iconic childhood memory growing up in this community. Whether you’re sad or happy, during good times and bad, until we can come together and take ownership, invest, and protect our communities, we can always count on a paleta to eat our problems away." --Quynh-Mai Nguyen, Social Artist, Silicon Valley DeBug
"When we were asked to design something that represented San Jose, we wanted to go back to the roots of what San Jose was before it became Silicon Valley. We came across "Valley of the Heart's Delight" and thought it was such a beautiful way to describe the old San Jose, especially since farms and fruit trees is what I remember seeing a lot of while growing up here. We decided to take that phrase and put it hand written script and then we masked the photo into the script to add texture." --Michelle Locquiao of Cukui

You could say in a lot of ways, having lived and having deeply experienced this past version of San Jose makes Cukui an undeniably authentic avatar for the San Jose we deep-down love. Yet, as a brand that lives and thrives in present-day San Jose, you can also say its creating new things and moving other things forward, giving the people here a new San Jose to love.
When it came time to invite screenprinting teams to the Screenprint Showdown, it was a no-brainer to invite Authentic Imprints, an unbelievably awesome high-volume custom print house based in North San Jose with a host of tools and techniques to pair with their innovative ideas and over 40+ years of experience.
First off, thank you to everyone who submitted a design to the Screenprint Showdown Design Contest. We were overwhelmed by how many high-quality we received and how supremely moving the submissions were. We loved how people dug deep for inspiration and expressed their San Jose experiences with skill and grace.
Next, we would like to congratulate the fifty Screenprint Showdown Design Finalists listed here...
"For San Jose residents, I want them to come to the Screenprint Showdown and experience San Jose in a whole new way. The logos collected through our graphic design contest will help locals re-imagine their city. For the tourist who will be in town for the Super Bowl, I want this to be a coming-out party for a newly rebranded San Jose."
As you may know, Adobe is a sponsor of the Screenprint Showdown. To further show our love for the San Jose community, Adobe has given us a year subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud to raffle, and we've decided to award this subscription to one randomly drawn person from the Screenprint Showdown Facebook Event's RSVP list!
That's right! All you need to do is RSVP for the Screenprint Showdown Facebook Event (https://www.facebook.com/events/331757143614833/) and you'll be entered into the drawing. We will announce the winner at the Screenprint Showdown and you must be present during the announcement in order to claim your prize.
