The Screenprint Showdown Design Contest takes San Jose pride to the next level. Artists, designers or anyone with a vision for what San Jose is today and what it could be tomorrow  created visual expressions of their San Jose experience and submitted them to this contest.

WINNERS AND FINALISTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON MONDAY, JANUARY 18TH

ALL ARTWORK BY WINNERS AND FINALISTS WILL BE ON DISPLAY AT
THE SCREENPRINT SHOWDOWN EVENT ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 30, 2016
AT BLANCO SQUARE IN DOWNTOWN SAN JOSE

We will select 50 Finalists

A panel of judges will select the top 50 designs from all of the submissions. Each finalist will be invited to a screenprint workshop at the School of Visual Philosophy where they will learn how to burn a silk screen and subsequently how to print their own design on paper. Each selected submission will be on display at the inaugural Screenprint Showdown event on 1/30/16 with the opportunity to be voted as the People's Choice Winner (see below).

You will be notified if you are among the 50 finalists on Thursday, January 18, 2016.

 

We will select 4 Winners

The same panel of judges from above will select the four winners from the top fifty designs from all of the submissions. Each winner will receive $500 from the Knight Foundation and a year-long subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud. Each winning design will be locally produced on paper, apparel, canvas and/or wood products and sold at post-event retail installations popped up throughout the city.

Each winning submission will be on display at the Screenprint Showdown event on 1/30/16 with the opportunity to be voted as the People's Choice Winner (see below).

You will be notified if you are one of the four winners on Monday, January 18, 2016.

 

We will select ONE People's Choice Winner

From the top 50 designs selected by the panel of judges, the public at the Screenprint Showdown event will vote on their favorite designs. The design with the most votes at the conclusion of the event will be named the People's Choice Winner. The People's Choice Winner will receive a year-long subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud as well as a $500 grant from San Jose's Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA) to go toward professional development.

You will be notified if you are the People's Choice winner at the Screenprint Showdown on Jan 30, 2016 at Blanco Square.
