Screenprint Showdown

Blanco Square, 12 N. San Pedro Street, San Jose, CA 95110

January 30, 2016  |  11:00a - 5:00p

With downtown San Jose as our backdrop, we gather our Design Contest winners, finalists, judges, creatives and lovers of San Jose to celebrate a day of screenprinting.

See Artwork from the Design Contest

View submitted artwork from our Design Contest winners and finalists! The Design Contest asked artists, designers or anyone with a vision for what San Jose is today and what it could be tomorrow to create visual expressions of their San Jose experiences and submit them to the contest. The Knight Foundation awards each of these winners with $500 and Adobe extends these awards with year-long subscriptions to Adobe Creative Cloud.

Meet Authentic Imprints, Cukui, School of Visual Philosophy, & Silicon Valley Debug

We invited four San Jose Screenprint Teams comprised of a high volume print house, a local design and retail house, an independent art education and workshop and a community-powered organization to design their "What is Your San Jose" design and print them on-site at the event.

Meet our crew

Funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, San Jose Made (SJMADE) partners with a team of local hooligans to get this party started.

We love San Jose...

Funded by The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the Screenprint Showdown is San Jose's latest and greatest opportunity to answer the question "What is your San Jose?"

To do this, our team has put together a month-long design contest. The contest calls for San Jose's creatives and culturalists to submit designs that answer this question in a way that is moving and precise and accessible to all.

Created and operated by San Jose Made (SJMADE), Kooltura Marketing, FutureArtsNow! and Content Magazine, the Screenprint Showdown believes in the power of San Jose's screenprinting culture and its ability to distribute the city's cultural identity in a way that is meaningful and inclusive.
